Paul Nicholls Stable Tour

The six-times top trainer at Cheltenham has several live contenders including Gold Cup candidate Clan Des Obeaux, Triumph Hurdle favourite Solo and reigning Ryanair champ Frodon.

Paul Nicholls doubled up the Cheltenham Festival for the second year in succession in 2019 when Frodon landed the Ryanair Chase and Topofthegame took the RSA Chase and the Ditcheat trainer, has, as usual, a powerful team assembled for the highlight of the National Hunt season.

There is no place in the Magners Gold Cup for the sidelined Topofthegame but Clan Des Obeaux looks to erase a below-par effort in the contest 12 months ago and goes there a fresh horse after being rested since gaining a second King George VI Chase win at Kempton on Boxing Day.

One of the leading chances over the four days could well be Solo, who obliterated his rivals in the Adonis Hurdle at Kempton this month and heads for the JCB Triumph Hurdle and, once again, the ultra-tough Frodon will be back on the Thursday to try and retain the Grade 1 Ryanair Chase.

Third in the present list of leading trainers at the Festival with 45 winners, Paul unveiled his plans for the forthcoming Festival at his Manor Farm stable to Tony Elves of attheraces.com.
